Missed the DFO this past weekend, but scored an old-school-style fumed piece made just recently by the big winner up there, Banjo! His prominence in the industry was long overdue some more formal recognition despite being one of the most-respected and talented leaders in the field today!

Was told this was the first of four fumed pieces he made over two days; this one took the entire first day while the other three were completed on the second!

2 cool fumed implosion attachments!

Awesome fumed retticello on the front of the can - Banjo obviously loves the gold more than silver and it shows on these pieces;-)

14 sections in all!

This fumework is not only extremely well-detailed and intricate but also very rare to see in today's market, making this all the more a collector's piece!

And ti-signed on the bottom, "BANJO 1989", a decade prior to his intro to the torch and before the ti-pens were out as well LOL!

What a fantastic "old-school" sidecar by one of the movement's foremost skilled technicians!

Meshing the elements of old & new together, like this wigged-out pattern on the back of the can - newer techniques utilizing older materials!

As opposed to the usual nastiness Banjo churns out nowadays, using the current incredibly-expanded color palette along with his insane sculpting mastery, like this custom chopper he conjured from the flame to match a real one down in N.C.!

Yeah, if you're speechless, I understand... tip your hat to the man!

Got some new Dead goodies recently; from Kevin O'Grady, the same one making the hand marbles back in the day that you'd see on the lot, well he's still making them!

Got a sick SYF marble, set deep in a fumed snakeskin vortex!

And a bigger Cats one, in a dichro/fumed snakeskin combo vortex!

Kevin's sig milli on the back!

Got a small chunk of his Jerry milli...

And a much bigger piece of his Cats Under The Stars milli too!

And a wave of his classy sterling silver rings with Stealie millis and Cats millis set in them that he makes by hand all by himself on the way - I can't wait! O'Grady FTW!!!

This fixed stem 6+1 with matching 8+1 A/C by JP and Carlson from '08 has been seeing a lot of playing time on the circuit lately;-)

From SF across the Bay and all the way down to LA, v00d00 has been truckin' this 18mm combo around!

Black outline Toro bull label on the tube and A/C...

"CAC 08" milli on the slide!

Ice pinches and a really nicely flared base by JP!

Worked black & white disc on the bottom of the tube and a section up top by Carlson, as well as the bottom of the A/C and the slide!

He even brought it to show Tommy Chong at the Expose, the one who got Carlson his start glassblowing in the first place!

New slide going up today, a collab by Jahnny Rize & Dan, made entirely of green glow glass, and these guys have it DOWN. This was the first of a 5 slide run along with a super-heady stemless made!

The glass glows in normal light, but turn the lights out and it BLASTS GREEN!!! Some pretty rare stuff here for sure, only one available, only at SHINOBI GLASS!

About 2.5"+ tall, and around 3" deep, this is a biggie!

Umbsstadder?!?

Umbsstadder has joined us on the site at SHINOBI GLASS, and we are real happy to be able to showcase the wares of yet another young local glassblower! He came out to Berkeley at the end of last spring, working for a while alongside others such as Sherpa, Koji, and Je$ter, and now happily torches with some of his old comrades at the new Blue Sun Studios in Oakland. One thing I definitely remember about watching him work in Berkeley was his dedication and passion for flameworking; he was (and is!) always quietly and diligently putting his all into his work! And it has paid off in spades, as he is currently pulling all his own color tubing for his projects, as well as making his own millis - with less than a year behind the torch!!! A lot of Je$ter's work displayed at AGE, and his current production as well, is made from Umbsstadder's own hand-pulled tubing! We have just two slides up by him now, but plan on adding more soon! All work on them were done by him, as I said before, and it will be exciting to see what else he comes up with as his skills continue to improve!

New curves up by Dosa!

That hot Purple Fire combo! All his curves are stacked with super-thick ti-pads and chunky wire to hold them in place! Get 'em while you can, at the prices listed, these clear necks are practically a steal (since I've seen roughly the same being offered for 1.5 times the price!) - so they won't last long!

Practically a whole month after it happened, here's some pics finally from AGE...

The Shinobi Glass Presents AGE Buyers' Raffle!

Koji's basket weave slide went to High Times in Houston along with a chunky slide from Je$ter!

Slim's Fade-to-clear went to 4th Dimension in Bullhead City, AZ, as did a dome set from Dosa!

And The Joint in Boston got Zinge's mini bull-head slide along with a sweet lil Swoop "Moneycomb" pendant!

Slim's display, with his gridded mini A/C's and bubs, both "Jagito"-style and stand-up, and slides and mouthpieces!

Dosa's minibubs, which come with matching curves!

Zingiber & Je$ter shared a table; Je$ter with his worked stemsets and mini fixed A/C's...

Hauled butt down to the OC this weekend for the 2010 Orange County Marble Show in Fullerton at the Anaheim Park Hotel, and real happy to have made the trip for sure!!! Hung out with some old friends, made some new ones, saw some sick marbs and picked up a few too!

This one looked super-clean with the white backing! Got to meet Josh Sable and grabbed a couple minis from him; my boy got the dopest dichro Mayan calendar marb ever, man is it a killer!

Ti-signed "SABLE 2010," I really dug the split on this lil guy! He also had some insane collabs by himself and Yoshinori Kondo; truly off the hook!!!

Ran into D-Wreck and he gave me this awesome marble! Love the fire scheme instead of the more common blue one you see!

Rockin' a sweet blasted sig on the back! Thx D, you da man!

Christina Cody was there as well, with Nick Voorhees, and she hooked up this fantastic airtrap/sculpted marb!

The back is Northstar Amber Purp, that she sculpted with a knife! Ti-signed too! I love this thing!!! Thx CC!

Each one came with a custom pouch that he made also! (I will try to get some shots under a blacklight of this one and the Mike Gong soon!) Got to meet Gateson, and saw some of his incredibly awesome Universe marbles, and Travis Weber as well, and got to peep some of his crazy work too! Lots of phenomenal art on the tables, even though it was a pretty small room, definitely glad we made the trek!

Here's a quick shot of #1 with the mini circ A/C;-)

Now on to Numero Tres, the big papi of the trio!

All of these top out at about 18.5" tall...

This inline sits in a big fat chunky horizontal can chamber!

The inline is braced inside the can!

Black & blue fade on the circ...

Faceted lip...

Don't it look sleek with a matching E. Ross slide!

Here's a couple shots of the mini circ A/C...

The can is about 5" tall and the 18mm joint on top adds another inch or so. Maria on the downstem into the circ...

I'll be honest, I've been ripping the inline to the mini A/C and it hits like a champ, big and fast! Have one more Toro treat to show off later BTW, a double-faceted hybrid A/C with faceted mouthpiece...

Zingiber has just recently set up a new studio in Oakland, with the help of Je$ter and Koji amongst others, and we couldn't be happier for them!

Inconspicuous and unassuming from the outside...

But things are on the move on the inside of Blue Sun Studios!

V00D00 came by the shop with me to visit Koji and Je$ter and Zinge, and Dave was working in there as well. He has been producing some awesome color tube pulls for the gang lately, for example many of the items Je$ter had on display in Vegas were made with it!

Koji had a real nice set-up in our AGE room (pics soon!), with hand-drawn backdrops for his 1-up gear! I've also got a gorgeous rasta filla disc slide of his that will be going up on the site this week!

Here's a sweet upline that my friend scored that is unfortunately cracked in a few spots. Nonetheless it's a sweet piece, made by Lawdog & Zara I think he told me...

Well here's a start on the pics from Vegas, I didn't get near as many as I might have liked, but I did get a bunch!

I guess I'll begin with the few items I grabbed for myself. Like this Pakoh urinal slide, complete with removable urinal cake...

My buddy grabbed a Pak-bot, maybe I'll finally get one too - next time;-)

Some delicate feathery swirls, the one Dosa got had a circular solid swirl made from uranium!

The implosion on this one is made from uranium so it glows under a blacklight!

Back from Sin City, a lot of blurry memories LOL! Will be posting a grip of pics over the weekend as time permits;-) AGE was a great success for the SGP crew, as well as an all-around good time! Lots of sick boro there, and at CHAMPS! Watching the blowers during the flame-off, and all the incredible pieces created was simply awesome! Will have some new stuff coming at you over the course of the next month or so and it's gonna be HOT! Everybody everywhere is hard at work, crankin' out what they can in these last days before the trade shows! Dosa is no exception, and luckily I was able to snag this little batch out of his shop while I was out there during this super-busy time!

This white honeycomb duo is the start of an all honeycomb set for a returning customer!

A custom black & white curve for another long-time customer, this one I will finally be getting to meet in LV;-)

A custom Fire & Black w/Disco dome that was originally intended for one but due to an honest mistake another lucky fellow was more than willing to happily scoop it up!

Two more pre-orders that I received!

Dosa is continuing to blow it up with his domes & curves, and I will have some pics soon of the minibubs he's been making as of late as well! We are proud to be representing Dosa at the upcoming AGE show, along with all the other young talented artists on the bill as well next week! Vegas here we come!!!

This 10-arm minibub I got from Wicked Sands last year had a small crack near the mouthpiece so I passed it over to my boy Dosa since WS had shut its doors already unfortunately (for the time being wink wink!) and here's what I finally got back!

Dosa added his own signature skull mouthpiece, in black...

Then topped it with a matching Jet Black ti-curve...

And finished it off with that insanely gorgeous mibbie he made a while back!

Kudos all around, a lil sickie indeedy! And one-of-a-kind for sure!
