GTT

Glass Torch Technologies, in Pennsylvania, makes the standard in glassblowing torches today. They are the Cadillacs of the torch world. They are also the kind that I am most familiar with as they are the kind I am around mostly. There's one Bethelehem over at Rebel, but the rest are GTT's I believe. And man, they are some sharp-looking tools. All sleek and compact; I guess I can sort of understand when I saw someone literally jumping up and down when they heard their new torch had arrived! Sort of like when I used to work in kitchens, and stuff like new knives or appliances would get me all excited, lol. Now it's ovens like the huge one down at Wicked Sands! But I just wanted to put some pics for those who aren't familiar with the tools that are helping shape the art we are all seeing nowadays. We'll start with the basics and move our way upwards; this one here is a lower-end model, the Cheetah:

Next up, the Phantom:

And the Kabuki, a high-end model; I think it costs around three grand...

And this is the top-of-the-line, as-good-as-it-gets right now from GTT, their deluxe torch of torches, the Python! This pic is from their website by the way...

Gotta imagine that bad boy runs in the neighborhood of $8-10K probably; that thing is a pure unadulterated beast!

Also wanted to throw up a couple pics of one of Dustin's double-stack wig-wag slides made from old cathode ray gun mounts from the 60s/70s that were made from borosilicate:

The muted blue glows ever so softly, I just love it!
